United Nations General Assembly
(Plenary)

Agenda: Realignment of the United Nations and international organizations in light of Sustainable Development Goals 2030 with special emphasis on reducing overlap and duplication of efforts.

About the committee: The General Assembly, the primary decision-making, policy-making, and representational institution of the United Nations, was established in 1945 in accordance with its Charter. It offers a singular platform for multilateral debate on the whole range of international issues specified by the Charter and comprises all 193 United Nations Members. Additionally, it is crucial to the development of international law and its codification.

About the agenda: The 2030 Agenda envisions a secure world free of poverty and hunger, with full and productive employment, access to quality education and universal health coverage, the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls, and an end to environmental degradation.
On 6th March, 2017 an informal gathering of UN members was organized to discuss how to best integrate the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development into the activities of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) and other organizations.
